In the summer of 2005, Hamilton’s Ronald McDonald House embarked upon a significant renovation to improve the interior of the house. A large portion of the cost of the renovation was covered by a grant from Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Dundas interior designer Virginia Gregory of Colour Plus was project manager for the renovation, which was conducted during the house’s annual Clean Week.
Much of the house was painted, carpet was installed throughout and many rooms, including common areas, got new furniture. New sofa beds in a neutral colour were installed in all rooms.
Further to family feedback about wanting double (as opposed to twin) beds, we were able to receive another donation of beds from Sleep Country Canada. Bed coverings were replaced in all of the rooms. A number of improvements have been made to lighting in the house. The replacement fixtures are beautiful, much better quality and should last much longer.
